2nd Round of State Am to Resume Wednesday Morning, 3rd Round to Begin at 9:00am
June 21st 2011 -

Due to a three-hour rain delay caused by severe thunderstorms, the second round of the Indiana Amateur at Otter Creek will be completed Wednesday morning at 7:30am. Then the field will be cut to the low 60 scores and ties, and the third round will begin at 9:00am.

Of those who finished 36 holes, Columbus native Tyler Duncan leads by three shots over Tony Lazzara with a second-round 67 at his home course. “This is where I play when I’m home for the summer, so I feel a lot more comfortable hitting some of the tougher shots out there,” Duncan explained. With the wind swirling around today, those shots became even tougher and made a 5-under-par round that much more impressive. “I’ve been playing pretty well this summer, and everything has been adding up,” said Duncan, who also won the PGA Southern Open presented by TaylorMade May 31st and finished as the top Purdue player at NCAA Regionals this spring.

The projected cut is 154.
