5 Spots Available for Professional National Championship; Von Hoffmann and Marsh Lead After 36
August 15th 2011 -

David Von Hoffmann impressed his new Indiana Section PGA peers with a 6-under par 65 at Stonehenge G & CC in the second round of the Professionals Championship. Added to his first round 71, he shares the lead at 136 (-6) heading into the final 18. Von Hoffmann left Austin, Texas, only four months ago to take over the head professional position at Victoria National near Evansville. While in Texas he qualified for two National Professional Championships in 2009 in New Mexico and in 2010 in his future home state at French Lick. He is now looking for his spot in the 2012 field as a representative from Indiana. Five Indiana Members will advance to the national championship.

Sharing the lead with Von Hoffman is Jeff Marsh of Deer Track who fired a 66 in the second round. A 67 was his previous personal competitive best, which he carded at this year’s PGA Monticello Open.  John DalCorobbo of Prairie View also shot 66 and is close behind at 137 (-5).

Also of note was a round of 64 by Ivan Foster of Bridgewater GC.
