USGA Women’s State Team Championship

Sycamore Hills Country Club, Fort Wayne, Indiana

September 1-3, 2009

Be a Part of It!

This is your chance to represent the Hoosier state on the national scene. The Indiana Women’s Golf Association will send a team to the 2009 USGA Women’s State Team held in our home state this fall. Any female Indiana amateurs, who are not collegiate athletes, have a chance to earn a spot on the team and participate in a national championship! This event is held every two years and team-member selections are based on the previous two seasons’ tournament points. Therefore, Indiana’s 2009 team will consist of the top three point earners from the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Points can be earned by playing in these tournaments:

            IWGA State Amateur

            IWGA Mid Amateur

            IWGA Senior Amateur

            IWGA Match Play

            IWGA Team

            PGA Indiana Women’s Open

USGA Qualifiers for a national competition:

                        US Women’s Open

                        US Women’s Amateur

                        US Women’s Mid Amateur

                        US Women’s Senior Amateur

                        US Women’s Public Links

After the completion of the IWGA Mid Amateur August 10, eligible players who have earned the most points and a spot on the team will be contacted. The IWGA arranges and covers the cost of travel (mileage or airfare when relevant), hotel accommodations, a rental car for the team, and logo uniform shirts. Dinners, welcome receptions and practice rounds occur the few days prior to the start of play on Tuesday, September 1. Details on the expenses and itinerary are available closer to the date of the championship.
