Indianapolis Open
May 18th 2009 - Todd Palmer (a) of Fishers carded a 36-35=71 at The Hawthorns G. & C.C. during the opening round of the E-Z-GO Indianapolis Open. He finished one stroke in front of fellow amateur Andrew Frandsen of Lebanon who fired a 32-40=72. Two PGA Professionals, Dave Pugh of Mystic Hills G.C. and Jon Stutz of Purgatory G.C. finished the day in third with 73's.

The day began with 156 of the state's top players, and was cut to low 60 scores and ties after 18 holes. The top 65 players who shot 79 or lower advanced to the final round May 19.
