In his first ever day of match play competition, top seeded Seth Fair defeated both of his first day opponents to advance to the quarterfinals of the IGA Match Play Championship at The Trophy Club. He beat Brooks Snyder 1 up after defeating Josh Ruff 4 and 3. Second seed Kyle Perry fell to Ross Cosat in the Round of 16 by 2 and 1, but third seed Erich Johnston continued on to the quarterfinals by beating Adam Vandercar 2 up. Other players advancing include Eric Steger, Henry Plager, Chase Wright, Justin Tereshko and Tony Lazzara.
