Five Shot Victory for Kelly
July 15th 2009 - The leader of the Women's State Am after her personal best 67 on day two, Brittany Kelly of Fishers, held on to even par during the final round for a five shot victory over two-time defending champion Julia Potter of Granger. Kelly fired 36-36=72 at Otter Creek G.C. in Columbus July 15 for her first State Amateur win to add to her 2006 Indiana Women's Open title. Kelly joins the likes of Danah Ford, Julie Carmichael, Ashley Prange, Katy Wilkinson and Kasey Gant as winners of both Indiana major championships.

After 36 holes, players were flighted. The top 20 players and tied who carded 158 or lower made the Championship Flight. Other flight champions:

First Flight - Kristi Piepenbrink, Greenwood
Second Flight - Lauren Vogt, Auburn
Third Flight - Kristi O'Brien, Fort Wayne
Fourth Flight - Kaelyn Lingenfelter, Bloomington
Fifth Flight - Allie Pancake, Zionsville
Sixth Flight - Anne Mail, Indianapolis
