Herron Defends at Mid Am
August 10th 2010 - Tobi Herron of Columbus defeated Michelle Smith of Fort Wayne in a one-hole playoff to defend her Women's Mid Am title. Herron recorded scores of 70-70=140 August 8-9 at Fox Prairie GC to finish at 6-under-par for the championship. In 2009 she moved back to Indiana and quickly made a name for herself by winning the Mid Am at French Lick Resort. Smith tied for the lowest round of this year's event with a 69 the opening day. Cara Stuckey of Terre Haute who finished third also shot 69 the final round.

After 18 holes, players were flighted. The 12 players who carded 80 and better made Championship Flight. Sara Mess of Fort Wayne shot her competitive low round of 74 to win the First Flight at 159. Suzanne Seaton of Sellersburg took second at 160. In the Second Flight, Barb Marshall of Indianapolis won with a 177, and Andrea Johnson also of Indianapolis finished runner-up with 179.
