High School Seniors - Apply for Foundation Scholarships
February 15th 2011 -

The Indiana Golf Foundation encourages and promotes the attainment of higher education for high school seniors who actively participate in the game of golf while also excelling in their academics by offering annual scholarships. Indiana Golf Foundation and Lynn B. Shonk scholarship winners receive $2,500 and David E. Simon recipients receive $5,000 towards college education expenses. Since 1996, the IGF has given away over $260,000 to Indiana high school graduates.

The Indiana Golf Foundation Scholarship is specifically for juniors who have participated in the Pepsi Junior Golf Program. The Lynn B. Shonk Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 in memory of Lynn Shonk by her family. Lynn was a great champion of the Indiana Golf Foundation and its programs. The David E. Simon Scholarship was created to reward students who have previously been employed at an Indiana golf facility. This endowed scholarship is possible through generous gifts from David and Jacqueline Simon. All applicants must meet minimum grade point average requirements and be nominated by their high school golf coach or PGA Professional to be eligible. Awards are based on academic achievement, extra-curricular involvement, an essay, and financial need.

Applications are available here and are due April 1.
