September 30th 2010 - By the 7th hole yesterday at Kokomo CC, the team of Cary Hungate and Scott Steger had already carded five birdies. They stayed hot for the remainder of the day and finished the opening round of the Callaway PGA Team at 14-under. "It was fun. We had a great time," said Hungate, Head Golf Professional at Kokomo CC. Today, however, by the 8th tee their card was full of only pars.

It was at the 8th hole when Steger finally broke the streak and birdied the par 3 that only one player was able to during the first round. That widened their lead to 2 shots over Jamie Broce and Chris Clemens. Another birdie at the 11th maintained their lead over the field, but birdies on 16 by Broce as well as the team of Bill Schumaker and Todd Smith, gave them only a 1-stroke lead heading to the 18th tee. Steger pulled through by making a par for the win at 124. Clemens-Broce and Schumaker-Smith finished at 125.

This event wrapped up the IGA-PGA championship season. But many PGA Members will head out to Las Vegas next week for the Indiana PGA Las Vegas Pro Am.
