Junior Golf Leader

The Junior Golf Leader Award is designed to pay recognition to a PGA Golf Professional who is a leader in junior golf, reflects the qualities and ideals of those who work with our nation's youth, and provides opportunities and experiences for juniors to learn and play golf. The following guidelines are used in making nominaitons: contributions to junior programs and the events in the Indiana Section, involvement in the promotion and development of junior golf at the facility and also within the community, support of Indiana Junior Golf programs, overall image, service and leadership in the area of junior golf, overall integrity as an individual and acceptance by junior golfers as a person of outstanding character.

Joel Baumgardner - Harrison Hills Golf & Country Club
Joel Baumgardner has been a tremendous
supporter of junior golf in Indiana and believes in developing the next
generation of golfers. His continued support of the Indiana Golf Foundation’s
Pepsi Junior Program is demonstrated by his willingness to host junior events
annually, including multiple Mountain Dew Tour Championships and the Girls
State Junior in 2010. At his club he hosts his own junior tournaments, clinics
and a junior camp for 75 kids every summer. Additionally, Baumgardner hosts three area
high school teams for practice, and he coached the Attica High School girls
team for four years. Juniors from Attica and Lafayette are inspired by this
leader’s ability to make the game fun and to create an enjoyable experience
