July 13th 2009 - Taylor Gohn of Columbus leads the IWGA Women's State Amateur after her opening round 72 at her home course, Otter Creek GC. Carding all 4's on the back nine and even par on the front gave her a one-stroke lead over two-time defending champion Julia Potter of Granger. Potter fired a 33 on the back nine to recover from a 40 on her first nine and keep herself in the running for a third straight title. The 2009 Indiana Open champion, Aimee Neff of Carmel, stands tied in third with Breanna Patz of Plainfield after shooting 74.

Play continues Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. View pairings here.
