Neff Defends Title
July 1st 2010 - Amateur Aimee Neff of Carmel successfully defended her title at the Pepsi Indiana Women's Open Tuesday held at Wood Wind Golf Club in Westfield. Neff's first round of 1-over-par 72 took the early lead, along with Taylor Gohn (a) of Columbus. Julia Potter of Granger, who just turned professional this summer after graduating from Missouri, also vied for the title from second place at 74. Gohn followed with a 76, and Potter came in with a 75, but it was Neff's 73 that gave her the commanding three stroke victory.

Neff, a member of Michigan State's team, has an impressive resume that also includes back-to-back Illinois Women's Open Championships in 2008 and 2009. She also won the 2008 IWGA Match Play Championship and will contend for her first State Amateur July 12-14 at Anderson Country Club.

Cathy Gerring of Fort Wayne, an LPGA Member, was the top-finishing non-playing professional at 76-79=155.
