Six Awarded PGA Scholarships

The PGA of America's Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship Program, marking its 25th anniversary, set a record in overall applicants. A record 747 applications were received this year, with scholarships awarded to 138 students totaling $300,000.

Founded in 1986, the PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship Program has awarded $4.5 million to 2,260 students. The program encourages and promotes the attainment of higher education goals for children and grandchildren of PGA members.

Funding for these scholarships is made possible through voluntary contributions to the PGA Financial Assistance Fund (a tax deductible 501(c)3 fund) from PGA members and other donors.

Congratulations to the six Indiana students who have received a 2010 PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship:

Brad Smith, Peru – John Cox Scholarship $5,000

Julianne Frye, La Porte – John Cox Scholarship $5,000

Katherine Cooprider, Carmel – PGA Scholarship $2,000

Kaelyn Lingenfelter, Rochester – PGA Scholarship $2,000

Peter Rafferty, Ridgeland – PGA Scholarship $2,000

Erin Smith, Peru – PGA Scholarship $2,000
