Till Gets First National Win
October 13th 2009 - Indiana made an impressive showing at the 2009 U.S. Senior Challenge October 6-8. Three Indiana senior amateurs finished in the top 5 at The Club at Sonterra in San Antonio, Texas, including Sam Till of Fort Wayne who got his first national win. He fired 71-73-70=214 for the victory. Ted Smith took third place with 70-70-75=215, and Ron Carter finished tied in fifth place after shooting 71-72-77=220. Even with 27 states represented and a roster of USGA national qualifiers, the field was a small test for some of Indiana's best.
