The qualifiers for the IGA, IGA Senior and IGA Super-Senior Match Play Championship took place today at Harrison Lake CC in Columbus. 32 players comprise the IGA bracket, 16 the IGA Senior bracket and 8 the Super-Senior bracket.
After winning last year’s event, Evan Stoker of Richmond automatically claimed the number one seed heading to the match play portion of competition. He will face Austin Carmack of Newburgh tomorrow.
This year’s Indiana Open Champion, Timothy Hildebrand, posted a 2-under-par, 70 today to grab the number two seed. He will battle the 31st
seed, Derek Kundenreich of Yorktown.
In the Senior Division, Defending Champion Gordie Rees, Albany, grabbed the number one seed heading to match play. Rees will face number 16 seed and 2013 IGA Senior Match Play Champion, Dave Vlasic, Valparaiso, during tomorrow’s round of 16.
Dave Williamson of Crawfordsville was the low Senior this afternoon carding a 4-under-par, 68. Williamson is seeded second and will face 15th
seed Chip Gagnier of Indianapolis.
In the Super-Senior Division (Ages 65+), Greg Hardin, Greenwood, claimed the number one seed after posting an even par 72 today. He will play number eight seed Steve Paquin during tomorrow’s opening match.
