Long time Indiana Junior Golf Director Ryan Lambert has been named Assistant Executive Director of the Indiana Golf Office. Lambert joined the Golf Office in 2002 as Assistant Tournament Director. He was named Junior Golf Director in 2004.
Under his direction and leadership, the Junior Golf Program has grown its tournament schedule, which includes expanding the Masters Tour Series to 36 hole nationally ranked events and creation of the Hoosier Junior Championship. This past season, Lambert implemented a Fall Tournament Series for Indiana junior golfers.
“Ryan has been an Integral part of the Golf Office team for a number of years and I have total confidence in his ability to handle whatever challenges this new position might bring to him,” said Executive Director Mike David.
Lambert attended Taylor University where he majored in Communications. Upon graduation he joined the Golf Office as an intern, but he never expected he would be able to make a career out of golf administration.
“When I started as an intern, I never would have guessed that 13 years later I’d still be here,” Lambert said. “I feel very blessed to have found the path that I did and to work alongside people who are passionate about providing opportunities to Indiana golfers at all levels.”
Lambert will now have an expanded role with all Indiana Golf Office organizations, in addition to his duties with the Indiana Junior Golf Program.
“You don’t work in a place as long as I have without a real belief in what that organization does,” Lambert said. “I feel so fortunate to have been around the Indiana junior golfers who continue to come through our program, not just great players, but really outstanding individuals. I feel honored and excited to serve all of our Indiana Golf organizations in a growing capacity, especially knowing that a lot of the things I enjoy aren’t going to change.”
Lambert, his wife Carrie and his daughter Maggie reside in Indianapolis.
