PGA Member Service Requirement Policy
Credit requirements will consist of two categories: (a) 54 Total Credits, (b) 36 of which must be from PGA Meeting/PGA Education and/or Golf 2.0/Player Development.
(a) Total Credits (54): A total of 54 credits must be earned, with at least 36 credits earned from the required category (PGA Meeting/PGA Education/Golf 2.0/ Player Development), while the other means of obtaining credits toward the total requirement remain per the prior program.
(b) PGA Meeting/PGA Education: The credit category for Meetings and PGA-delivered education (Chapter, Section, National) are now combined and all will be awarded one (1) credit per hour of participation.
(b) Golf 2.0/Player Development: The credits for Golf 2.0/Player Development will be earned via the reporting of actual creation, activation and engagement of golfers into programming that supports Golf 2.0 initiatives and/or education and training on the strategic plan, its initiatives, and related program administration.
Visit the Play Golf America website www.playgolfamerica.com
to process MSR credits through the online tool. Any questions regarding the Player Development Programs themselves should be directed to either Joe Canny, PGA or Bethany Denzer in the Player Development Department.
FYI: There are two ways to report results and earn MSR credits for Golf 2.0/Player Development. First is to use the online tools to promote your program and accept online registrations. This will enable the PGA to track the number of events. The other is through submitting end of the season reports.
Q: Am I required to use the online tools to register my students?
A: While the PGA would prefer you use these tools, we understand members may already have adequate systems in place. However, a member will need to report results online in order to receive MSR credit.
NOTE: Members who have attained 25 years of active membership and are at least 65 years of age before the start of the Professional Development Program shall be required to earn 12 credits from the PGA Meeting/PGA Education/Golf 2.0/Player Development category only.
To receive proper PDP credit, Indiana PGA members must send copies of MSR certificates and other documentation of the event to the Indiana Section PGA Membership Director. Seminars outside the Indiana PGA may be honored upon submission of the documentation detailing course content and length, as well as a certificate or letter stating completion/attendance.
