Defending Champion Michael VanDeventer Looks to Repeat at Hoosier Junior Championship

Last yearís Defending Champion Michael VanDeventer is tied for the lead at the Hoosier Junior Championship held at Otter Creek GC. VanDeventer and Richmondís Tyler Pearson posted impressive 2-under-par 70s today and have a one shot lead over Andersonís Colin Proctor.

"I hit the ball really well for the most part today and made some long putts,Ē VanDeventer said.

VanDeventer is a senior at Columbus North High School and will play golf next year at Ball State University.

"It would be pretty special to win two years in a row,Ē VanDeventer said. "This is my home course and my last year playing in this event so it would be nice to go out with a win.Ē

Columbusí Sydney Anderson is the current leader for the Girlís Division, also held at Otter Creek GC. Anderson fired a 5-over-par 77 today, giving her a one shot lead over Jasperís Annie Getzin and Andersonís Morgan Nadaline.

Anderson, a junior at Columbus North High School, looks for her second win this season, her first coming at Cascadeís GC in a Mountain Dew Tour event.

Tee times begin tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
