Till, with an early Friday tee time, was long gone from the course before he heard Werner tied his 68 to share the lead with him.
“That is funny,” said Till. “We’ll have a good time tomorrow. We play a lot of golf together so we’ll enjoy the round.”
Other than a short missed putt at 17, Till was very pleased with his work on the greens.
“I really got the putter going today,” said Till. “I’m usually a better ball striker but I was very happy with the way I putted.”
Werner was the last group off the course and immediately joked about his final round pairing.
“I started and finished the round with a bogey but played solid golf in between,” said Werner. “I’m happy with the way I am playing right now.”
Lurking just one shot back are Tim Brown, Joe Hayden, and Kenny Cook. Cook won the Indiana Section PGA Southern Open on Monday at Harrison Lake CC.
